Try doing a search on the internet for "Texas Tears structure" which is a common tourney structure

Good post. I had a similar delima and didn't even think to post it here. I have a group of guys in NW Arkansas that want to start a 3 table NLHE home tourney.

Using the advice in the later posts, I found this site to be useful
Tex's Tears Structure and Payout Schedules (http://www.pokerpages.com/pokerinfo/texstears/index.htm)

Thanks all.

The blinds structure is somewhat similar to those on the Poker Stars' SNGs, but the payout schedule is brutal in comparison. For 30 players, at least 4 spots should be paid, maybe 5; this schedule only calls for 3 up to 30 and 4 up to 40 positions.
