88 in middle position

Ultimate Bet 3/6 no kill

I'm in middle position with 88. There is one limper in front of me. I raise and everyone folds except the limper who just calls. The flop says:


7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif j /images/graemlins/spade.gif 3 /images/graemlins/club.gif

The limper bets out.

What shall I do now?

Raise. Most the time the limper will not have the jack here, and even if he does, you are often buying free cards here with this play. If he just calls you should bet the turn as well (if he checks to you on the turn)

If he threebets the flop, then you have to judge by the player. If he is very solid you should consider folding. If he is soso, or a maniac, then call him down all the way, after you cap the flop (in order to buy a free card cause he will be too scared to bet into you on the turn)
