I just received a case I ordered to hold the chips that should get here soon. I have some cheap plastic chips that appear to be the same thickness as the clay chip samples I got prior to ordering. The case is a 500 chip case and has 10 columns, hence 50 chips per column. When I put 50 of the cheap plastic chips in one of the columns, there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch space at the end of each column. All the columns are uniform. Is this normal? I expected the chips to fit snugly so that the chips wouldn't be able to move around when transporting.

Yes this is normal. Get some cheap clear spacers so your good chips fit nice and snug.
