I have heard disturbing rumours about a Party Service attack this Sunday.

Apparently, Party officials recieved an email earlier this week that demanded $100,000 to prevent this action.

The attackers have pledged a full scale attack in three stages.

The first stage involves an electronic virus that will go through the systems at Party and remove all the bugs and latency issues, which will in turn mean that players will have less lag and be able to join waiting lists.

The second horrific step, assuming Party do not buckle under the first wave, will involve replacing Party's website with a psuedo website that has properly ordered information and easy to follow menus to things such as tournament rules and rake structure.

Assuming that Party still haven't paid up, the attackers are threatening to break into the offices of customer service in India and replace EVERY member of staff with a fully trained, literate and poker knowledgeable employee.

A spokesman for Party commented on the issue.
"Clearly this Service attack is something we could do without, however we believe we have the means to thwart these people using our experience in the field.
We will not be blackmailed into giving our customers service.
100k is a lot of money, and if these terrorists succeed, they will seriously damage our business.
We intend to not only stop these attacks, but spend the 100k on a serious downgrade to make sure that an attack of this nature is never possible again."

The terrorists however were not to be stopped.

After this statement was issued, they anounced a far more sinister rider to stage 3.
"Not only will the offices be taken over, but we have a commitment from Stars AND Paradise employees to help us.
These people are already highly trained in Service Terrorism and their experience will win us the battle.
These are not idle threats, we have already attacked those responsible for letting Binions slide downhill and the results will be seen this May when the WSOP is run by a proper casino chain.
Not only that, but we attacked the Florida Marlins 18 months ago, and the catastrophic results were there for all to see."

Sunday is judgement day.

If Party really were hit with a DoS attack, how would we know? Tonight was a nightmare.
