Some good flicks will be on IFC later this week. These are movies/directors that have been mentioned in recent threads.
High and Low; Friday, 7 PM Central. More noir than samurai, Mifune plays the intended ransom target in a screwed-up kidnapping. I almost never get to see this flick.
Tokyo Drifter: Friday 9:30 PM central. One of Suzuki's 60's hit-man movies. Weird and fun.
Branded to Kill Saturday 7 PM Central. An even weirder hit-man movie; the basis for the recently-touted Pistol Opera.
I'm a Japanese-movie buff, and these are great flicks that I don't get to see every day.
