Hi all, I'm on week 3 of my SnG challenge. I have been posting these in the Internet forum. I think it would be beneficial if I posted them here as well.

Here's a link to the SnG Challenge, week 1 (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=474955&page=6&view=collap sed&sb=5&o=14&fpart=1)

Here is weeks 2 and 3:

Where's week 2? As many of you know, I didn’t make a challenge update this past week. After week 1, I decided that it would be more beneficial for both me and the Zoots if I waited until I played in 100 $100s and $200s before making another post. However, the zoo has spoken and I shall make these updates weekly instead.

Weeks 2 and 3:

I played in 12 100+9s and 42 200+15s.

100+9 stats:

12 Tourneys
% in money: 50.00%
Gross winnings: $1,300
Net winnings: -$8.00
Avg. Finish: 4.00

1- 0
2 - 1
3 - 5
4 – 2
5 – 2
6 – 1
7 – 1

200+15 stats:

42 tourneys
% in money: 42.86
Gross winnings: $10,600
Net winnings: $1,570
Avg. Finish: 4.29

1- 3
2- 8
3- 7
4- 7
5- 5
6- 4
7- 5
8- 1
9- 0
10- 2

I didn’t get to play in as many SnGs in weeks 2 and 3 as I did in week 1. I had a lot of free time that week and managed to log a lot of tourneys. I also got tired of playing in them and switched to ring games to break the monotony.

A big difference in results from weeks 2&3 vs. week 1 is where I placed in the money. I got 3rd as much as I got 1st and 2nd combined. I don’t think this is that out of the ordinary. I wasn’t able to be much of a factor once I made the money. In fact, it was a dogfight just to get in the money. Rarely was I in the money with more than T-2500 in chips. I folded some strong hands that could have put me more in contention, but would have risked putting me out when 3rd was virtually a lock. Both times there were 4 of us left, I was in the SB with ~T1000, the BB was the big stack(T-4000+), and a player with around T-200 was UTG getting ready to be forced all in. I folded AJ suited and KQ unsuited. Both times I got 3rd.

Here's 2 hands I got consecutively. I'm just glad I didn't get them in ring games...

Playing both 15-30 ring games and SnGs this week, I noticed a few things I normally wouldn’t. The 15-30 games have been really aggressive lately while the highest limit tourneys have been relatively passive. It seems that there’s a lot more limping and cold-calling in the first 3 levels of a tourney than I ever see in the ring games. It’s almost like we’re playing 1-2. As you'll see from my HH above, I cold called with 99. I can't remember the last time I did that, but I felt pretty confident that there would be at least 2-3 cold callers behind me as well.

Usually I play the first 3 levels of the tourney pretty tight-aggressive. I play my big hands fast and only play suited Aces and mid-low pocket pairs in multi-way unraised pots. Pretty basic really. There are a few players I see that go crazy from hand 1. Usually, I see them drop half their stacks by the end of the first level and fade out of the tourney, but sometimes I’ll see them take a pretty big chip lead early on. Rarely do I see these guys make the money. Time and again, I see them donate a 2500+ chip lead to the rest of the table. It’s players like this that make these games really beatable.

I had something interesting happen that I haven’t seen in a long time. The player to my immediate left got disconnected or went and got some dinner or something. I noticed that he kept on auto-folding when it was his turn. Fortunately, my opponents didn’t notice this and with 5 of us left, I was able to steal his BB from my SB several times and keep me in the tourney.

Here's a hand I played after putting a player all in. I would like to hear what others think of how I played this one:

These tourney's are limit.....NL is probably assumed at least most talked about and they would be confused until they figured it was limit.

Just my daily critter public announcement.
