Flop is

I bet 1200,Mp calls and LP folds
Turn is /images/graemlins/club.gif3 I bet 1200, he calls again
River /images/graemlins/heart.gif6
I check, and so does my opponet he has A-J and wins ace high,I guess he was on a inside straight draw,Im thinking If I had bet the river he coulnt of called Ace high,should I gave up my semi bluffing on the turn?
