What are the odds of 2 people flopping a flush?
From what I can figure it is about 1 in 19490 for headsup play. But what about a 10 handed table?

That sh*t happened twice to me last night within roughly 50 hands on a 6-handed table*, and I was on the weaker end of it both times, so I'll be interested to see the results.

* Yes, I played both hands like an idiot. [i]We can't both have flopped a flush![i]

Happened to me last week. Had the K and J, and the flop was T, Q, 4 of hearts. Made flush and 4 to the royal on the flop. Little did I know the guy in the next position had A, 9 of hearts...

I'm not sure if I figured this right (my math is very rusty) but:

Once you've already flopped a flush (which won't happen very often in the first place) then the chances of any individual having also flopped a flush (assuming they play any 2 suited) is 2.59% (8/47 * 7/46)

That would be in a heads up game. So in a 6 handed game the chances that one of your opponents also has a flush become 15.54% and in a 10 handed game they would be 25.9%

Now if you want to factor in the chances of flopping a flush in the first place that becomes a longer shot (obviously), but I don't think that's important to this question. But for the record the chances of flopping a flush would be simply 12/51 * 11/50 * 10/49 * 9/48 = .198%

so HU the chances of both people flopping a flush are 2.59% * .198% = .0051% (which is what you got). The chances of 2 people both flopping a flush in a 6 handed game go up to 15.54% * .198% = 3.1% and 10 handed 25.9% * .198% = 5.13%

I hope this is right - if not I'm sure someone will correct it.
