hey people this is my first post on 2 plus 2 forum. I've been playing a lot of 2-4 poker at the commerce casino. My question is how loose can i play when im playing in a really loose/passive game? obviously suited connecters are great in a multiway pot with only one bet to call but what about connectors???or just suited cards?

Suited connectors are very valuable in a loose/passive game because of the implied odds. You get in cheaply, and if you hit then you'll usually take down a sizable pot. Their value comes in giving you multiple ways to win (flush, straight, or on rare occasions two pair or a boat). Don't play any two suited, as you'll only win if you hit a flush (and if it's not the nut flush, you'll lose that also). Ax suited is very valuable in a multiway pot, but be prepared to let it go if an ace flops and you have no flush draw. If there's aggressive action, you're almost certainly outkicked.

Good luck.

you should be asking how tight can i play and still win. you have alot of rake to overcome in proportion to the stakes. playing loose just doesnt cut it.

Senor Yang,

With the described table, I certainly advocate looser play. The problem I have with offsuit connectors and any two suited cards is that you have to nail your hand to continue. Most of time you end up pot stuck, even with low suited connectors. The key to success is having the discipline to let it go when trouble comes, and even when at times the pot odds are there, it doesn't mean your outs are clean.

I will muck most offsuit connectors from any position and play strong suited cards in LP only. I tend to favor A-xs though (the child in me). Good luck.

suited connectors are PLAYABLE, not great, and only in late position in an unraised multiway pot.

You can almost just sit and wait for AA-JJ, AKs, AK, AQs, AQ and AJs, plus suited aces when appropriate, KQs, QJs and pairs when appropriate, and never ever play another hand and still not be playing too tight for a loose low limit game.
