Excellent article, well written, highly worthwhile. Experienced a little of this a month ago regarding the possibility of prostrate cancer and further tests. Couldn't help but relating the odds to poker situations.

I don't remember the source--it may be Steven Pinker's How the Mind Works--but one author shows that doctor's are notoriously inept at knowing what the real odds are in medical situations.
