Hi,

This is my first post on 2+2. I am a newbie and have not yet played in a casino. My only experience is at the “play money” tables.

Two nights ago I sat at a short handed 100/200 Hold’em table and soon realized that I had stumbled onto something special. I was an inadvertent interloper at a 2+2 discussion group. Mk420 and dynasty were there (I am assuming that these are 2+2 names as well, apologies if not).

I knew that that they preferred I leave, but said nothing to try and force me out. And I wasn’t going anywhere because I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play against real mid-limit players, wow. I saw how weak I was playing in general and then overplaying at times (e.g. not raising my A’s preflop then betting all the way only to get beat by someone who flopped two small pairs).

Last night I sat at a short handed 10/20 game and cleaned up. I bet my big cards preflop and didn’t always head for the hills when someone bet into me. It was a great feeling even though the deck was hitting me up side the head a bit.

Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone at that table for a great game and some great lessons. Hope to see you at a casino sometime.

I ran into a 420[vegas] or something similar on America's Army a few days ago. It's probably not you(MK420), as you play in AC. If it was, I hope that you won't get shot next time you climb a ladder carrying a machinegun.

p.s. AA is a first person shooter game like Counter Strike.

First of all, I didn't prefer that you leave. Having a non 2+2er in the mix often makes the game harder to play because you definately have to use much different strategies against different opponents.

Your failure to raise some big pairs pre-flop (QQ and JJ, specifically) got me to pay you off on those hands when I flopped 2nd best. But, I think the lack of pre-flop aggression cost you much more on other hands. So, it was a net loss for you.

These shorthanded play/study sessions are on Monday nights at 7:30 eastern and Wednesday night (Thursday morning) at 1:00am.

What site are these games on? I would love to join if it's an open invitation...

Betw2outs,

I didn't mind having you in the game at all. Dynasty pointed out that having an "outsider" sit in can have its benefits and I don't think he meant a chance to increase his bankroll at their expense /images/biggrin.gif

I have seen you play often at UltimateBet.com. If you do have an interest in the game and would like to join us, we play every Monday at 7:30 EST and Wednesday at 1:00 EST.

The only requirement at the table is to bring your "A" game.We should be discussing hands on the shorthanded and heads up forum. Please post any hands that you would like to discuss.

Look forward to seeing you Monday night.
