This really isn't that big of a surprise is it? It has been coming on for sometime now. I have stayed there a few times and played a lot of blackjack and some poker at in the casino. Something will be done soon I think.

yea, harrahs can buy it and sell off the wsop. or ruin it like they do most things they touch.
or maybe binions will get it reopend and figure out that times have changed and you cant give people crappy food -bad service- and stinkin restrooms- dirty floors and hope to make it. that went out with the glory of gambling nevada style years ago. and i forgot the best. smoke in your eyes wherever you go. remember california is the place that provides the majority of the money for las vegas.
except for me you cant live in the past.

The Pastrami sandwich at the snack bar is the best I've had outside of new york and Hawaii (and that one closed years ago). Granted, I've only had pastrami sandwiches in NY, HI, CA and NV. Other than that, burn the place down.

What is odd is why now? Intrest rates are low, the papers say the economy is improving. WSOP was on ESPN. Weak US$ must be attracting foreigners. I wonder if this is not a sign the economy is really not improving. Perhaps rumours that Al Qeada has it in for Las Vegas?

Is this a sign that a down cycle in casinos/gambling in general is starting?
