I'm new to this forum and apologize if I'm posting in the wrong area. Sorry.

=========

I'm planning to take a road trip to Lake Charles (Isle of Capri) to play poker. Looking for a travel/poker buddy to share the driving and hotel costs.

Plan to leave Friday, August 9 afternoon and return Sunday, August 11 late afternoon.

Will drive from Austin to Houston (about 2.5 hours), take late lunch, then continue to Lake Charles (about 2.5 hours) and play poker that evening.

They offer 1,3,6 Hold 'Em, 10-20 Hold 'Em, and 1-5 Seven Stud.

The gas/driving cost will be around $50 total. The hotel is about $50 a night total.

If you're interested, send me a note.

Thanks!

WillYum,

Just a friendly FYI - the low limit hold 'em games are 3-6-12, not 1-3-6. Just thought I would clarify.

Also, if you don't like the Isle poker room, check out Coushatta which is only about 40 minutes past Lake Charles (north of Kinder). It's a larger room, and not quite as smokey. The limits are generally the same, although you can sometimes catch a 6-12 game going. I don't think there will be a tournament going on that weekend at Coushatta, so it won't be quite as busy or crowded as on tournament weekends.

Good luck and wish I could join you, but I have to work that weekend.

Anyone have any info on the $10/$20 game at the Isle of Capri?

Thanks,

The 10-20 game tends to be as loose as the 3-6-12 games. On weekends there is usully a 10-20-40 game. That game is a little tougher but not too tough. These games are filled mostly with Texans that are in a gambling mood.
