View Full Version : Dispute with friends

My friends and I have been arguing about this for a while and we both think we are right. The question is if all remaining players have the same hand (ex the board is A, K, Q, J, 10 with no flush) do the players split the pot or does it go to the person with the highest card in the pocket? This may sound like an easy question to a veteran player but we havent played much outside of our houses. Thanks.

The pot is split. Hold 'em is a 5-card game, so only the best 5 cards play; in this case A-K-Q-J-T. Any other cards in the pocket are irrelevant to the hand.

Its a split pot, this is called "Playing the Board".

You use the best 5 cards of the board and in your hand, If the board is the best you can make its a split.

It is your best five. But in a home game any rules you guys decide on should be a group decision. In my home games with my friends we have so many little rules i can't keep up but if you want to play by the book it's the best 5.

Best 5 cards as the others say. But the fun part is betting and raiseing and....somebody folding!!!
