View Full Version : Paradise Poker STOLE my money when I cashed out

Predator

I cashed out $132 last night at Paradise Poker and got the Firepay confirmation number. Then I got an email from Paradise stating that I owed them money from some previous account(s) that I had with them. I have never played Paradise until a week ago and have never had ANY other accounts there. They seem to be basing it on my password which they claim was used on these other accounts. I just wanted everyone to know that they ripped me off and the same could happen to you.

Whoa. This is scary. If any of you use the password "parishiltonishot" and owe money, please let me know so I can change mine before cashing out.

Who is this Paris Hilton woman? I keep getting spam offering sex videos with her in. Don't these people understand I have enough porn already?

I think the real victim is Hollywood stud Rick Solomon, the guy who banged her and taped it for all of us to enjoy. That guy is not getting his deserved respect.

I got robbed too. I flopped top set and moved all-in on the bubble on a rainbow board and some fish with a big stack caught runner runner clubs on me. Terrible. I was due a solid $22 if I made the lowest amount of money, and if i doubled my stack I might've made the final table and go even more.

I wuz robbed!!!!

As you can see, you’re going to have to provide more details if you want any sort of response here. Some suggestions:

How many accounts did you not have?
How many other people have used your computer to open an account?
How many other peoples’ computers have you used to play your account?
How many other people at your address have an account? Even if it’s your wife or father?
How many credit cards in how many names have you not used to not open those accounts?
How many poker sites have banned you?
How many times and for how much have you contested credit card charges for gambling sites?

You problem can be resolved much more quickly if you just tell us the whole story now, including all such unimportant details.

I don't know the answers to the wuestions about any other accounts. I just bought this computer two weeks ago and have only lived at this address for 4 months. I have never had any other accounts at Paradise in my life til just over a week ago. They are accusing me of having had multiple accounts some time in the past but I don't know when. They claim that some charges were reversed and they were getting their money back and still say I owe them even more money.

This is all absurd. It's a simple matter of mistaken identity and I am the one having to pay for someone else's discretions. They sent me a firepay confirmation number when I cashed out, then a few minutes later retracted it making all these outlandish accusations. I have never been so infuriated in all my life.

Go to http://www.casinomeister.com -- Once there there is a form called a pitch a bitch, fill it out. The webmaster there has been very successful in getting people's money back.

2+2 is the wrong place to go if you have problems such as this. As you can tell, you will just get idiotic, and childish responses. Half the people on this forum are broke and do not even play poker. Why do you think they have all this time to sit on these forums for hours on end?

Good Luck

Gabyyy is absolutely right about this. He is the only one who posted a good and helpful response in this thread. Apparently, Gabyyy is the only one who cares. The other posters are idiots who think people are guilty till proven innocent. Gabyyy is highly intelligent and is one of the best posters on 2+2.

As far as me being an idiot, I pulled an 83 on my last IQ test, several points above "idiot". So who's stupit now?

I got an email from Paradise today that states that the cashier has informed security that they will be cashing out my balance to firepay as soon as the original transaction has cleared Firepay. Since that transaction was 10 days ago it has had plenty of time to clear. If I get the money I am due I will be sure to let you know.

There usually turns out to be a lot more to this kind of story than a first time poster usually states. If your story is complete, I think it's a first. Do let us know how it turns out.

And by the way, a password should look more like "3ru#96xm" than like "biteme1".

[/ QUOTE ]
It sounds like Paradise is claiming the debt arises from a credit-card chargeback. If something appears on your credit card statement that you don't recognize, you can call your credit-card company and they will "investigate". Ultimately they will take your word that the transaction was not authorized, at least if it was an online transaction. They may ask you to certify this in writing. Then the amount will be credited back to your card, and debited from the merchant's account.

Online poker sites and casinos get a large number of these chargebacks -- that's why they tend to have limits on the amount you can deposit via credit card per day, week, and month.

Probably what happened is this: someone who used to live at Predator's address opened an account at Paradise and made a credit card deposit, but later charged it back. Paradise would justifiably consider that amount a debt owed by the person who opened the account. However, Paradise would of course be mistaken that Predator is that person.

Another possibility is that the person who used to own Predator's computer is the one who charged back a deposit to Paradise. (Predator said that he/she bought his/her computer second-hand.) Maybe there was a cookie or something that made Paradise think Predator was the other person.

I doubt the mistaken identity would arise from Predator having used the same or similar password. But you never know.
