The Mars Rover, Spirit, is scheduled to land tonight - then deployment tomorrow and then data and photos from the red planet when line of sight allows for direct communication.

It will be interesting to see some of the data results and photos from the Red Planet and some should be available almost instantly from the NASA rover website NASA Rover (http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/home/index.html)

C-span should also have good coverage of the main aspects of the mission and results. There was a briefing this afternoon that was televised.

It will be interesting if we ever hear from it again.

They have struck out a few times but you can't hit the ball if you do not swing. I hope they send one out of the park this time.

I hope they put plenty of "alien-out" on the windows. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I remember years ago when "neptune all night" was on public TV when voyager arrived there. Just think how much better the coverage should be today.

So what. Mars, Schmars. Brittany Spears apparently got married. Now that's big news.

Well yes, Brittnay's tits and ass and martial status are more important than any science discoveries that may be in the offing. How supercilious of me. A thousand pardons. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

In the L.A. Times, the Spears marriage story with a picture of Ms. Spears, was right next to a story about Abraham Lincoln (a new web site where you can access details of his life). There was a picture of Lincoln next to the picture of Spears where the Spears article said "Britney Spears reportedly marries." At first glance, it would appear she married Honest Abe. A match made in heaven.
