View Full Version : Work out the odds

I tend to learn a lot from these sort of posts, so I'll post one here since it seems especially relevant.

Suppose you're playing 1/2.

You hold 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif3 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

with a flop of

K /images/graemlins/diamond.gif J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif K /images/graemlins/club.gif

It's one small bet [1] to you and you close the action.

How big, exactly, does the pot have to be to call the bet...[q]. You should trim your odds so that you account for the times you lose when you make your draw. How many players should there be to raise[assuming everyone will call]

Make assumtions [specifically, how many players saw the flop, and how they might play their hands] as needed.

I'll post what I think later. I think anyone who's new to poker might want to take a stab at it, I learn a lot by just trying to work these out moreso than the relevance of the answer.
