Odds on AA vs AA?

I came to the final table tonight in a tournament, got AA and went all in and got quickly called, a 3rd guy debated and folded.

My nemesis who went onto to win it all, I came in 5th, had AA as well.
[he busted me later with JJ vs my A4s]

What are the chances of this?

And also how would u figure the odds of one of us actually hitting a flush?

If you have AA, someone else will have AA ~9*1/1225~=1/136.

At the table, on any given hand, it looks like it would be about 1/6000.

One of you will flush about 4.4% of the time.

I seem to get 4.3462% of the time for making a flush (that
will scoop) but the other figures are okay. There are 28
straight flushes that show up on board which are split pots.


The poster must have played in the same tournament my friend
played in at paradise! He said he got lucky with AA versus
another AA by making a flush.

Oh, there was no made flush in our hand, and this was in a tourney on pokerpages, at the final table.

No one at the table had seen it quite like that before...

About 1 in every 6016 hands, two players will be dealt AA.

It happened to me in a NL SNG - raise, reraise, cap, call preflop, all in about 10 seconds. In limit it's funny. In NL, the frustration and relief make it that much funnier.

No need for the ~= since 9/1225 is exact. No more than 2 players can have AA.

With 10 players, exactly C(10,2)/C(52,4) or 1/6016.
