I've been playing the microlimits at Paradise, but I've been told that Paradise has some of the more difficult games on the Net (it doesn't seem too difficult, maybe at higher limits). So I guess I'd like you all to rank, from your experience, these poker rooms, by level of competition (at the 0.5/1 up to say 3/6 level):

Party Poker
Empire Poker
Paradise Poker
Pacific Poker
Ultimate Bet
Poker Stars
Poker Room

If there are other poker rooms out there that I forgot to mention, feel free to include them in your rankings. Thanks.

I'd be interested to know whether you find Party significantly easier than Empire...

aren't they the same rooms, just different skins?

Yes, that's why I was amused at the poster ranking party above empire. I was hoping no one would say anything and the original poster might post a long message about the differences between party and empire and why party is so much easier /images/graemlins/grin.gif

LOL, I wasn't ranking them, I wanted you all to rank them. I just put down the list of all the poker rooms I could think of. I've only played at Paradise, so I only know how difficult that room is.

Ranking the sites is very difficult because a player's style will work better, or worse at each site due to the sites own specific make-up of players. However, from my own experience I can list what I have played and what I have averaged hourly while playing a single table. (I play multiple except on Pacific but hourly is per table) I have about 100K hands total - 80% 50/$1 10% $1/2 and 10% 2/4

Poker Planet - first site I played $2 hourly
Royal Vegas - slow, slow hands $2.25
Paradise - mostly single tables $2.50
Poker Stars - $2.85
Paradise/Empire - $3.54
Pacific - $4.78 - terrible players - more ups and downs due to bad players, but great pots for low limits (includes some Omaha Hi/lo)
Again - due to my style, these are my hourly per table rates, and each player's style may or may not fit .

Hello

Good question. I was interested to see some of the responses. It seems I chose one of the harder sites, UB, to start at. Oh well. Actually, I am starting to do quite well after only playing 3-4 months. We'll see if it holds up.

I have played some of all levels, mostly .5/1 and 1/2 6max. I haven't played at all these sites, but I have been to all of them to at least watch the games to see if they were worth trying. I played mostly on Party and UB.
Easiest to hardest:
Pacific Poker (by far the worst players anywhere, 8 way flops are the norm, and not just at .5/1, at 5/10 as well)
Party
Poker Stars
UB
Paradise
Poker Room (omg rock garden)
