Anyone having trouble playing at UB, ever since they downloaded thier V4.4, eveytime I try to go to one of thier tables, their logo moves to the task bar and just sits there! I tried their customer service but they just go around in circles, and nothing they suggest works!
I have no trouble getting to my account on thier site, I have been playing there for over a year with no problems! I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble since the went with thier new update!
thanks
Tony

I have had no problems with the new version. Maybe you need to uninstall and re-install, thanks to good old bill g(g).

I am using windows 2000.

Are u using modem or cable? If modem, there is possibly something in the dial up networking which needs to be changed. Are the modem lights doing anything when it is in that state?

What does the task manager show when it is in that state? Is cpu usage high? Is memory usage high?

I'm a unix guy so beyond that I am not much help.

Tom:
Thanks again for your response!
I use a modem it is internal so I don't know about the lights?

If the task manager is what I get when I press: Ctrl >Alt >Del? It shows nothing unusual.

My memory usage is 58% I just tried to go to a table and checked it.
In the past when I was able to get to a table and play I had numerous windows open and never had a problem.

I don't remember how to check CPU usage?

If this helps I have been having another problem lately and that is:
This has also been posted on the Spyware and Hijackware Removal Support page on another site , because I dont'n know if I have been hijacked or it is some kind of IE or computer problem!

This is the message I receive when I try to log on to my Yahoo mail account:
"Yahoo!-999 This page is currently unavailable-Mirosoft Internet Explorer

This page is currently unavailable
Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later."
This has been happenning for two weeks now!
Running IE on a PC, P2, 350MH, Win 98, Dial-up= JUNO, IEv6
Have no trouble getting into my Hotmail or Netscape or Juno mail with IE!

If I use OPERA as a browser I can get into My Yahoo and Yahoo mail. So I would have to believe it's a Yahoo/IE problem, I have tried repairing an reinstalling IE but no help.
I have read the FAQ and ran HiJackThis but I have no idea how to read the log.
Would like to include a word Doc. showing the Error and the HiJackThis log but don't know how.
Have tried to contact Yahoo but they never respond!
Any ideas, suggestion etc. would be greatly appreciated!

I realize this is a poker site and not a tech site, but I have been going around in clrcles trying to resolve this problem, with no luck, this is also about the time the trouble started with UB.
One last thing when I am at the table screen on UB the graphics have what seems to be static ( the part of the screen that shows, Real money,Free Games, Ultimate Points etc.
I see from your profile you are from CT.I was born and rasied in New Haven, been in Vegas Apr will be 28 yrs, just didn't want to fade those Winters any more!!

Yep, I'm having problems since the upgrade as well. I get a dialog box telling me that another application is running and needs to be stopped, do I want to switch to that application. If I click yes, the application it wants to stop is explorer.exe, which obviously I don't stop.

Same deal, no problems before, no problems with other sites, and I'm actually having the same exact problem on both the virtualpc that runs on my powerbook and on a dell precision workstation that has never exhibited any other strange behaviour.

I was having problems with UB before (earlier version). When I would click on "Play Poker" it would lock up and then close the program. I too got nowhere with UB support, but figured out it was because of another program I was running (it was a little program called "Macro Magic" that I used for work). Anyway, Macro Magic automatically started when Windows started and ran in the background. If Macro Magic was running, UB wouldn't. I changed the settins in Macro Magic so that it didn't start on boot-up, and my UB worked fine again.

So, you may want to try closing all programs that may be running in the background (or otherwise) and see if UB works then.

Hope this helps.
Johnny.

Some more information for you, although I don't know if it will help.

I had problems with the knew UB download also. I had to download the latest version of IE. Then it worked sometimes. The problem for me was I ended up downloading some other software with it called cnet(some type of downloading software).

Sometimes I couldn't even access explorer. I uninstalled that program and everything works fine now. So as someone else mentioned it may be another program running in the background causing you problems.

Here is what my tech guy says:

Sounds like IE has been hijacked via an ActiveX Exploit. A couple things to
suggest:

With the other browser, Opera, he should download Ad Aware 6.0, run the built in update feature, & scan his machine. Remove the spyware it finds.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ This product is free.

Does he run & maintain an antivirus product? It's a necessity on windows based systems. He should also use a firewall if he's connecting to the Internet. He should also keep windows up to date by going to windowsupdate.com

Unfortunately, windows98 will be stop being supported by Microsoft after the new year, so there will be no future security updates.

Hope this helps

Tom:
I run Ad-aware with IE and this is what it finds:

Started deep registry scan
Possible browser hijack attempt : Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet SettingsAutoConfigUrlnetsetter.com

Possible Browser Hijack attempt Object recognized!
Type : RegData
Data : "http://proxycfg.netsetter.com/gencfg.asp?id1=ppvG93kGNh5&id2=U0e0btwUq5f&nsv=4.2 .0.3"
Rootkey : HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Object : Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
Value : AutoConfigUrl
Data : "http://proxycfg.netsetter.com/gencfg.asp?id1=ppvG93kGNh5&id2=U0e0btwUq5f&nsv=4.2 .0.3"

Deep registry scan result :
New objects : 1
Objects found so far: 1

The problem is after I remove it, it reinstalls it self, and I don't know how to get whatever it is off the machine and keep it from reinstalling!

I will try installing Ad-aware with Opera and see if it works.
I keep Ad-aware updated they send me a message when an update is avalable!

Does he run & maintain an antivirus product? A: Yes AVG and updated that weekly.

He should also use a firewall if he's connecting to the Internet.
A: Don't have but I will look into getting one!

He should also keep windows up to date by going to windowsupdate.com

A: do that weekly and update what is advised.

Thanks Tom,I will get back to you after I try a few of the suggestion I have received, I am in the casino biz so this is a very busy time of the year for me, so I may not be in touch for a few days!
Tony
PS: if you could run that possible Hi-Jack attemp by your tech guy he may have a suggestion on how to get it off my machine!
TIA

Here is the latest from my tech guy. The manual part of this is very complicated. If you have any tech guys you know, I would have them do it(g). I am pretty techy myself, but I would not want to do this.

Tom
=====================
Sounds like an executable is being called from somewhere, and ad-aware is missing it.

I did some digging, and this is what that entry is doing:

"Every web connection you make, including 'secure' connections, goes through the proxies and is logged and analyzed on behalf of MarketScore's customer companies."

I found one program that explicitly states it removes this spy ware: Pest Patrol

It looks like they have an evaluation copy that might be able to remove it for free. Pestpatrol.com

Or, there is the manual way:

Manual Removal:

There is a hidden uninstall feature. Open a command window and enter (for Windows 95/98/Me):

"%WinDir%\SYSTEM\NSCheck.exe" /uninstall

Or for Windows NT/2000/XP just:

NSCheck /uninstall

Stop Running Processes:

Kill these running processes with Task Manager:

systemroot+\system32\nscheck.exe
systemroot+\system\nscheck.exe

Remove AutoRun Reference:

Go To the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run.

Unregister DLLs:

Unregister these DLLs with Regsvr32, then reboot:

systemroot+\system32\csloa.dll
systemroot+\system32\okshook.dll

Clean Registry:

Remove these registry items (if present) with RegEdit:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{b2c03e2e-2219-4ff9-810a-540aca63f8d9}
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\interface\{2f668a6d-2ec7-4e3a-a485-819e210738d6}
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\interface\{f88527e2-a8a7-4227-8683-05cfa4eec511}
HKEY_USERS\default\software\microsoft\windows\curr entversion\run\nscheck

Remove Files:

Remove these files (if present) with Windows Explorer:

systemroot+\cusnns.bak
systemroot+\system32\csloa.dll
systemroot+\system32\csloa.dl_
systemroot+\system32\nscheck.exe
systemroot+\system32\okshook.dll
systemroot+\system\nscheck.exe
systemroot+\system\nscheck.lgc
