Playing last night in a fairly wild 4-8 game at Casino Arizona (will never play low-limit there again, very nice room, but rake very very high!). Almost no flop was seen without a raise, and 4-5 people in for 3 or 4 bets preflop was not uncommon. Even had a live-straddle hand in which 5 players saw the flop for 5 bets! Anyway, the biggest offender was sitting one seat to my right, limping in with just about anything, capping with JTo/ QJo, worse sometimes. His postflop play was bad too, one hand he and another crazy played a hand in which he was bet into on the flop, raised, then bet the turn and river, then lost to ace high (he had king high).
Anyway, on the hand in question two or three people had stepped away from the table, so it slowed down momentarily. I was on the button and it was folded to the maniac on my right. He limps in, which indicates he has just about any two cards. A good player to my right folds and I look down to see A6 off-suit. The blinds are fairly tight, and I'm sure if I raise I can isolate the maniac unless they wake up with a very good hand. I raise, they fold, maniac re-raises. A limp, re-raise by him here could mean he just wants some action, seen him do it before with nothing. I am still confident I have the best hand and cap it.
Flop: J63 rainbow
He checks and I bet. The turn is a blank, he checks and I bet again. A king rivers, he checks and I check it down.
Did I severely overplay my very weak ace? Or would others do this against a player playing any two cards??
