well this really wasnt the ultimate parlay. but it was about the best i could do. i was at hollywood park today.
i saw rick n. and his ever-winning hero so i was already running good. i started out playing 10-20 w/ $600 and turned that into $900 when i took a seat in the 15-30. i picked up another $300 there and sat in the 20-40 w/ $1200. made $550 there and stepped up to the biggest game (maybe the pot limit game in the corner was bigger but i dont play pot limit), 40-80. checked out of that game w/ $2520. so $1920 profit from $600. best off all i dodged the time collection a lot and paid something like $19 for 4 hours of play. how sweet is that? hp let's a lot of players easily slide as new players when they switch games, as well as gives them half off when there are a lot of new players in the game.

Mike,

It was good to see you and I’m glad you won in the 40/80 holdem but I really would have liked to see you go to the main game 20/40 holdem and tangle with noted RGP poster Kenneth Ng a.k.a. “Speed Racer” (one alias he can’t deny for reasons I won’t get into now) a.k.a. “ “ a.k.a. “ “ a.k.a. “ “. That meeting may have resulted in some real good posts although he doesn’t participate much on 2+2 due to lack of discussion of “chip hos” and other cardroom lowlife he finds entertaining. I really recommend Googling both Kennent Ng and his one absolutely undeniable alias Speed Racer’s RGP posts if you get the chance. They are both informative and a riot.

Regarding collections it seems Hollywood Park and at least one other Los Angeles club just don’t work very hard right now keeping track of “continuous play” where you should be paying a time charge after 30 minutes of play when you move between tables even if you are a new player with no board at the second table. Lately on Sundays it seems when I move from one game to another it is sometimes 90 minutes before I pay a collection and that is without complaining to the floorman, embellishing or lying regarding my status (a few months ago I saw one guy lie his way out of three collections he clearly owed all while staying on the top of the must move list – I can’t remember if I actually posted the story or was just thinking of posting it and sort of had it crafted in my ever forgetful mind).

Meanwhile speaking of parlays Hero didn’t play ring games today but won her first $40 satellite to the $330 no limit tournament, chopped another $40 satellite (+$150) while waiting for the tournament to start, played the tournament and finished in the final five where they made a deal based on chip count (it’s a winner take all tournament) and netted $1500. She did rebuy though /images/graemlins/blush.gif

I didn’t move tonight except from the must move to the main game 15/30 holdem. I started out my day up a little then got blasted with big hands on back-to-back pots (one had 29 big bets) when my aces and kings both lost to trip deuces. I really paid dearly on the aces because there were two incomplete draws on the board I needed to punish (the draws were out there but so was the set). Eventually I ground back to a modest $300 win and ate too much of the artichoke and spinach dip and Indonesian chicken satay near the end of the evening and now heartburn is keeping me up.

"“chip hos”'

are those the same as "poker skanks"? the mysoginist in me needs to know.

as for mr. ng no chance was i going to sit in a game with him. ive played against him a little back in my hustler casino days and that dude can play up a storm. as soon as i saw him yesterday at hp, even though i didnt know he was, just recognized his face from before, i decided that i would not sit in the same game as him.

congrats to hero. she's a genius at this poker stuff. she needs to post on here more often.

how was the food? i havent had anything to eat off the new menu because im so obsessed with the pinks hot dog cart in the lobby i cant imagine eating anything else.

great seeing you rick! i will be coming up to hp more often for reasons we discussed last night.

I like playing with Mr. Ng because of his mannerisms. You definitely don't want him in your game to make money. I love the way, when you bet into him, he will just take a brief moment, look at the board, and then either call or raise (or fold). Or when, if perchance, and it doesn't happen often, he calls on the river and you've beaten him, he just shakes his head and mucks. No muss, no fuss, ever. Just play. A good player and a good man.

Check out Speed Racer on Chip Ho's and Card Room Life (http://tinyurl.com/27zbq) and you might get the idea or do the Google Advanced group search above for more by Ken on Chip Ho's.

But it was a good game. He will get in your way though so sit on the other side of the table.

She needs to work on her limit game fundamentals and I do want her to post.

IMO you need the west side of LA atmosphere to make Pink's hot dogs taste better. Back in Rhode Island we used to eat New Youk System Hot Weiners a.k.a. "gaggers". Check out The Best Place to Go Eat Late At Nigtt In Rhode Island When You Are Drunk (http://polychroma.dreamwing.com/photos/providence/hotweiners3.html)
Meanwhile, with Google I just found a weiner story Here (http://vee0920.tripod.com/lists/nyt_ri.html) and I'll post it now and read it later. John Cole from Other Topics would love it.

Anyway I like the Indonesian Chicken Satay but the artichode dip is too rich for me. The puled pork sandwhich has too much bread and not enough pork. It's about time they came up with new stuff, I couldn't eat anymore Persian flat chicken (that off menu item everyone gets).

Good seeing you too. Kenneth Ng came by later to sweat me. I won two decent pots by playing AK aggressively and made no pair and he said they were the only pots I played right. You would get a kick out of him.

Rick

I used to live on the East Side of Providence for years and highly enjoyed a 'gagger' when I was intoxicated after stumbling out of the Keg room.

However, I can't go against my home town favorite:

Thought you'd like to know I've lost four consecutive sessions. I remember losing six in a row a couple of years ago. If I break that record, I'll let you (and everyone else) know. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

As far as the games are concerned, they are typical L.A. mid limit HE
games with the usual cast of characters--off duty floormen, off-duty
asian dealers, drunk middle eastern gambleholics, busted armenian
jewelers, nut peddling old men, vietnamese chip Ho's, and wannabe
professionals playing straight out of HEFAP--no different than any
other L.A.casino.

<hack> <wheeze> ...busted armenian jewelers. Too funny.
