All kinds of fun variation over the next 7 days. I'm posting a bit early because the Sands Showdown was supposed to be suddenly scheduled for 12/21.
Highlights:
2003 WSOP- The disappearing act that is ESPN scheduling (see tonight, for example, when Show #5 was scheduled for 8:00 EST) has evidently infected the entire following week
Celebrity Poker- and I thought last week was overkill. THIS week, you can watch each show in a row! (that is, if you're up REALLY late on the east coast)
WPT- Not to be outdone by EITHER network, the Travel Channel pulls the regular Wednesday rerun show and instead makes a "WPT Friday"
Showdown at the Sands- part of the original program is being shown this Sunday and next. I don't know what episode, nor do I know if the East Coast will get it (Comcast isn't listing it at least)

A top-drawer all-black cast battles over one weak soul in this musical fantasy, which retains its appeal despite its 1940s racial stereotypes. The soul in question resides in the body of good-natured "Little Joe" Jackson (Eddie "Rochester" Anderson), whose talent for gambling---and weakness for other vices---should make him easy prey for Lucifer Jr. (Rex Ingram). But the Lord has a powerful ally in Joe's devout and devoted wife, Petunia (Ethel Waters). And when some of Joe's associates beat him to within an inch of his life after a dice game, the power of Petunia's prayer persuades the Lord's General (Kenneth Spencer) to give him six months to make amends. And Joe begins to do so. But then Lucifer's "idea men" hatch their battle plan: give Joe a winning lottery ticket, call in temptress Georgia Brown (Lena Horne), "and we as good as got Little Joe on the broiler right now."
