Just got an email from party asking if I would like to sell my cruise back to them for $9000. They say its overbooked. First 75 to respond get the cash. I took the deal, but I might be too late.

Anyone out there wanting to sell thier cruise should get on it right away.

I just asked for the refund too, and the $9000 is already in my account. Wait ... no, that says $90. Woops. One way or another, however, I intend to have 101x my current amount within 48 hours.

Yeah, this is all a little strange. In the email, they said that once you are refunded the cash for the cruise package, you do not have the option to buy it back. But it does say, "You are more than welcome [sic] however [sic] to participate in any upcoming Semi-finals and/or Super Satellites and go on the cruise by winning another Cruise Package." And haven't they already started giving out cash in lieu of cruise packages in the satellites?

I would have treated this like i do the airlines when they are overbooked....wait until they get desperate and start offering more money

I am pretty sure the prize pool in a PPM tourney is less than the sum of the buy-ins, so they still profit from each tourney they run.

Im well aware that are still making profit on these tournies... i would think though that this small profit is offset my the headache and the amount of time required to reschedule the overbooked ones.

Aside from the rake taken, all the buy-ins go straight back to the players.

seems there are six tourneys going right now, before the prime time starts...if the average were five an hour for 20 of the 24 hours a day...that is $2,000 per DAY.

Not exactly chump change, even for Party.
