Situation -

125 buy-in. B&M Every Wed. 150 max entries (filled every time). No re-buys. Average competition. Some very good players, some very bad.

I play this tournament every Wed. Top 20 paid. Real money at final table.

How often should a decent poker player:

A - Make the money?

B - Make the final table?

I've played 41 of these this year. I have won twice. One second. 3 9th place finishes. And six 10th-20th finishes. Obviously I have shown a net profit (about $19K) so that is good.

Just curious about the percent of the time I should be at the final table to be able to gauge if I am a decent player or not. Am I inline/above/below?

One thing that I think skews it in my favor is that the majority of people in the tournament are the same week to week. I know a lot of them VERY well and it makes a lot of decisions easy. So this tournament may not be the best source to determine if I can play bigger tournaments.

The reason I ask is that I am thinking about making a run at a couple of big buy-in tournaments this coming year but I don't know if I am ready.

Thoughts?
