I'm looking for some numbers for the party 1/2 vs. 2/4 full tables(HE). I recently moved up to 1/2 from .5/1 and have found it quite different. Since party has few full 1/2 tables, it's hard to find a seat. When you do find a seat, the average pot size is usually around $12, which is only slightly higher than .5/1($10)!

The average flop percent is about 35% at 1/2, compared to around 50% at the .5/1 tables I play. Does anyone have recent numbers from 2/4?

I'm looking for opinions on which to play. Also, if you have strategies for beating the 1/2, I'd like to hear those as well. (Loosen up, etc)

Thanks!

Not sure where you are getting your numbers but with about 10,000 hands in each

.5/1 44.86% flop avg pot 7.54
1/2 39.5% flop avg pot 13.84
2/4 39.53% flop avg pot 27.12

all tables play exactly the same but "I" had problems winning in 1/2. Not sure why!

Thanks for the numbers.

My sample at 1/2 is pretty small yet(<1000 hands), so I'm not surprised yours is different. I don't have my 5./1 numbers in front of me, so I may have been a little high, but I thought it was pretty close to 50%.

if you can beat 1/2 then you should def move up to 2/4 as soon as you can offord it. i moved up last week and its juat as easy at 2/4 as 1/2 and .50/1. the players do play a little better after the flop but as long as you are seeing the flop <25% of the time and can fold without a second thought when the flop misses you completely unless you are heads up youll be just fine. i beat 1/2 for about 1-300$ a week avg for 2 months before i moved up though.

Is 250 BB enough at 2/4? It seems the 300 BB rule applies to much tougher games than parties micro limits.

That should be fine for a winning player as long as you are prepared to drop back if you start off with a bad run. You should win the 50BB you need to be comfortable before you lose a significant amount more often than not.

my 2000 hand sample at .50/1 is 50.52%

Not a TON of hands...but definately enough to say that it's probably in the +-5%

As you move up, table selection becomes more important. You can find tough games at $2/4, but you can also find games that are only slightly tougher than $.50/1. I found $1/2 to be about the same as $2/4 (in fact, perhaps a bit tougher at the time) so I moved up as fast as I could. I actually stayed at $.50/1 a little longer that I otherwise would have, then played $1/2 for a short time and then moved up to $2/4 pretty quickly.

Sounds like what I'm doing right now. I've stayed at .5/1 longer than I figured because the games are quite profitable. I'm slowly getting experience at 1/2 at the same timeand am planning on hitting the 2/4 tables as soon as I can.
1) 2/4 tables are much easier to get on at party.
2) The competition seems to be much the same.

I played another 1200 hands yesterday and it's dropped a tad. Down to 48.78%
