Is it me, or is it that the more chips on the table, the better the games tend to be? It seems like 10/20 games are tight (5/10 even worse) while 20/40 games are nuts...

comments?

I'm on the west coast...
Oh, I know there must be exceptions...

Is the 5-10 game there mainly $1 chips? We had a 5-10 game here for awhile that was only $1 chips and it was nuts. The only 5-10 game I saw in Vegas was a 5-10 Omaha 8 game at the mirage played with $5 chips. Two words: tight. passive.

I could be wrong.
It happens once or twice a decade. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The 5/10 kill game at foxwoods is just insane. I played in it two weekends ago, and made 6BB/hr for 30 hours. If you were willing to ride the LAG generated rollercoaster, you were in for a good time.

(It's played with red chips)

I do believe there is a psychological effect of playing with more chips, even at the same stakes. Take the california 4-18 kill games played with only $1 chips. Nuts. Same as the 8-16 kill. But play 10-20 with $5 chips in the same casino and watch the action dry up, even tho the stakes are virtually the same. Makes no sense at all. I actually find dealing with all those chips quite annoying too, I wish 4-8 had been played with $2 chips. However, I would never want that kind of insane action to end, so I'll deal with it.
