Anyone out there know what the edge is for the player if perfect blackjack is played. What I mean by perfect is, if the exact cards remaining were known and you were to make the play that would maximize your EV at all times.

This would be quite different than the use of any counting system, since all counting systems would be some sort of approximation of "perfect" play.

I was just wondering how much better perfect blackjack was vs. any of the typical counting systems out there.

There still isnt enough information to define perfect play and its edge, since how deep into the deck hands are dealt is critical, and bet variation and the ability to sit out and enter hands mid deck is hugely profitable. For example, if they deal to the bottom, you could minimum bet until end play situations where you have a huge edge (eg the only cards out form 20 or 21) or good size edges (eg no 4s and 5s left and a preponderance of high cards).

If I remember correctly Thorpe might go into endplay percentages.
