There are some people on twoplustwo who seem to be very knowledgable about poker, for instance Greg (FossilMan) or Crockpot (both have answered some questions I've posted). I was just wondering how much poker you play? Do you only play online? What stakes do play? Stuff like that, I'd just be curious to know about my twoplustwo mentors.

By the way, I'm not just asking Greg FossilMan and CrockPot...

Bruiser. Try the polling feature when you ask questions like this. I'll put one up for you here, plus give you my 2c.

I've been playing as avid 2+2er for about eight years, but I started playing poker for money over 25 years ago. I have played 25+ hours a week in casinos or online since becoming a 2+2er, but have been pro off and on (currently "on"). I play any game except draw and lowball, but prefer stud, stud-8, hold'em and no limit hold'em. I have played limits from 2-4 to 8-16 kill or 10-20. I currently play mostly 5-10 and 10-20 online. I love tournaments.

I am not the best player in the universe, but I certainly feel I have something to say on the forums. I look up to Fossilman, skp, Louie Landale, Tommy Angelo, Vince Lepore, Dave and Mason, Pokerbabe, Clarkmeister, Dynasty, Al Schoonmaker, plus many others on this forum.

I have been playing like 6 years. Posting here for a very short time now. Funny thing just met MG in NJ this weekend. Everyone here because of my post count thought I was a noob. Come to find out me and MG have been playing in the same games for a long, long time /images/graemlins/wink.gif He definitely has my respect.

He probably has some good notes on me though as well.

I started playing nickel/dime poker in college about 20 years ago. I continued at that level through grad school and law school. I sucked as badly as most do at that level.

When I was a lawyer, I stopped being a card-counter, because the games were no good at the Chicago riverboats. I tried out a Rockford Charity Casino night one time, and saw I couldn't make any money playing BJ there. They had low limit poker, so I tried it for fun. Not much later, I had hooked up with a regular 3-6 home game. I found RGP and poker books. I then played 3-6 HE and occasionally 3,5 blind PLH when I moved to San Diego, as well as tourneys. I was up to 10-20 and sometimes 20-40 by the time I moved here near Foxwoods 5 years ago.

Since moving to FW, I've had a good bit of tourney success, as well as cash game success. I've played as high as 300-600 limit and 10,25 blind PLO. I've gone from $20-500 tourneys up to the $10,000 buyin events. My typical games now are tourneys, limit games around 50-100 and 75-150, and 5,10 PLH, as well as smaller stakes online.

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

The level of experience you guys have just astounds me. It sounds like you ARE the people I watch on tv. Just thought I'd tell you all how impressive I think it is.

I'm just a college-age kid who's been playing hold'em for 9 months. Started out playing .5/1 online with a $100 deposit. I currently play 15/30 on a $25k bankroll. The only reason I became a winning player is 2+2 literature and this forum.
