Does anyone know of a book that has a good discussion on river play. I find that this is one of the weakest points in my game. I often find my self checking the river with the best hand (but not the nuts), like when a single over card comes agianst my top pair, etc. Am I just playing scared/overly caustious? I do realise its not that simple and position plus caliber of players is involved but I was hoping to find a book to help me out.

thanks.

I have the same problem. I end up checking the river a lot too. My thinking is that is actually correct a lot of the the time for because you're not likely to get called unless you're in trouble a good portion of the time.

Check out the new Ciaffone/Brier book for discussion of this subject, amongst others.
