St. Patrick's day in Vegas

Well, it looks like our annual Vegas pilgrimage during NCAA hoops will find us there in Week 1 instead of our typical Week 2.

We'll likely meet up at the 7pm LHE tourney at the Orleans on St. Patrick's day.

Is Vegas extra-special-crazy on St. Patty's day, or just the regular old Vegas plain-crazy?

Our "annual" Vegas pilgrimage is during week 1 of NCAA hoops, so I've been in Vegas 4 of the last 5 St. Patrick days.

Some of the regulars who have been to Vegas at more different times of year than I have would be better judges, but it seemed to me to be a slight step above "regular old Vegas plain-crazy". Some casinos having extra outdoor concerts and giving put glow light/green beer/free hats type stuff, plus there were a few more drunks than usual. But, nothing approaching New Years, Halloween, etc.

Maybe I'll see you there (maybe some other 2+2ers will find themselves out there same time).

I play low limits, and will probably play poker at Monte Carlo (if we can get the room rate) and watch some games at the Mirage (go Illini!). Tourneys at Orleans, Luxor, maybe spin the wheel at Excalibur -- typical stuff.

I play low limits as well - mostly Mirage, Bellagio, and Mandalay Bay. Based on what I've heard here, I'll definitely check out the Monte Carlo room (again) next trip. We've stayed there several times, but the poker room was pretty quiet when I played there or checked on it.

Our 2004 "annual" trip is in big trouble - too many people letting jobs, kids, wives, school, money, etc. get in the way of Vegas /images/graemlins/confused.gif If we're out there, I'd love to meet some 2+2ers.

Memphis has a St. Patricks day parade that's cool and runs down Beale St. -

Who knew so many African Americans were actually Irish...LOL - lots of em wearing green.
