"New Zealand immigration, she told me, works on a points system. Applicants need 29 points to gain residency. Speaking English and holding an advanced degree can get you to 10 points; professional experience upward of 10 more. Being between 25 and 29 is easy money, too: 10 points. (If you're over 56, forget it, bub; New Zealand taxpayers aren't paying for your Viagra prescription.) A "relevant job offer" scores five to eight points."

BTW the original Maori name is much cooler than "New Zealand".

they let you move there if you invest 650000 in their country in business or land. real hard to immigrate if you plan on using their social system for anything or having a job or profession that may displace a local. n.z. is the best country in the world to live in imho if you enjoy outside things and clean air. but bring money.

thats the way it should be here. the world gave us all their tired and poor as we wanted, and now we get to suffer

I agree with Ray. I did some consulting in New Zealand (Aukland and ChristChurch) and NZ is my favorite country by far (outside of the good ole USA). Place is awesome and people are nice.

The only issue I came across was that several times in meetings someone would shout out, "why do we have an American here when we should have hired a Kiwi". Displacing natives is a big issue with them.
