5-10 at the Taj on a Saturday.

Hand 1: First hand at the table.

LP calls, SB completes, I check in BB with Qs9c

Flop Q /images/graemlins/club.gif 4 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

SB checks, I bet, LP calls, SB calls

Turn [Q /images/graemlins/club.gif 4 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif] A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

SB checks, I bet, LP folds, SB raises, I fold figuring SB had an Ace.

SB flashes Q5o

Hand 2

This hand is 6-7 orbits later. The table is ultra-tight except for the same LP and SB, who are loose-passive pre-flop. LP has not tried an open steal-raise yet. SB will complete small with any two. LP is passive post-flop but SB is aggressive.

LP calls, SB completes, I check in BB with KTo

Flop K92 rainbow

SB checks, I bet, LP calls, SB calls

Turn [K92] 9

SB checks, I bet, LP calls, SB raises, I fold, LP calls

River [K929] 3

SB bets, LP calls.

I folded reading SB for a 9 and LP for a King with a better kicker.

SB shows 94o and LP shows KTo.

Is folding too weak-tight? Is it better to check-call?

Thanks.

Hand 1 - I think the fold is reasonable. You should thank him for showing you his hand. You gained a lot of info here.

Hand 2 - This is funny, because after hand 1, I would have a hard time laying this down.

This is the same guy, right? Folding the first hand is probably OK, but you got some information on him. He likes to checkraise a flopped top pair on the turn. You should put him on that hand, and either threebet, or call him down.
