i have 88 in the small blind, one mp limper to me, i complete (i thought about raising but figured i would see the flop first especially since i'm way out of position), big blind checks


flop comes A 7 7 rainbow

i bet, both fold.

with medium and small pairs it's nice to see the flop cheap if there are 4 or 5 (or more) other limpers with you. Otherwise it's better to go heads up. Your raise probably won't chase either the big blind or the limper, but you at least try. You're also punishing them for playing weaker hands.

A lot depends on the BB. Can you push him out? Because if you can't, it might be wiser to limp with your awful position and all. If you can push out the BB then by all means raise. But I will limp here a lot too.
