Hi, Had 2 questions about ATo in a $5-$10 game

1) Is it ok to limp with ATo in early middle position, say in 4th position? or when is it ok to limp with this hand?

2) Also, when is it ok to open raise with ATo if no one has entered? In what position? 5th , or not until a later position?

Appreciate any help. thanks

depends on the texture of the game, but i would prefer to raise with this hand if i'm the first to enter the pot, regardless of where i am. i'd probably fold it in at least the first two or three positions. in late position you can also raise one limper with it.

Pretty much the only time I'd limp with ATo is in LP after a few limpers (I'd raise after one or two a lot of the time). I'd never open limp, but I'd open raise after 3 or 4 players folded in most games.

nah, JTG has it pretty right. Although I think he should mention the limpers are loose. I've seen many a limp with AJish and you really don't want to run into that. Big unsuited cheese loses value multiway so be prepared to dump if you don't nail the flop.

Yes, I should have. I'm lazy.

Abdul recommends raising 4 off the button w/ATo if first in, that's good enough for me.
