Putting it before the Super Bowl is a great idea b/c all the pregame stuff they do is pretty boring.

agreed. besides, it's one day in the year that people are more likely to turn the television on. the pregame sh!t gets boring so they flip the channel and, hey! are those guys playing poker? way cooler than pregame banter and bad graphics...

I kind of doubt that it will get very good ratings. Now, if it was on the same channel as the Super Bowl, that would be a different story. Most people tune their TVs to the Super Bowl channel all day and won't even know what's on the other channels.

I think the very fact that poker is going to be shown on a major broadtcast network is a tremenous step forward, and the exposure the game will get is going to be larger than people think. I mean, most people don't even get the Travel Channel.

...now if only Party would advertise during it...

Nothing can beat the superbowl in ratings, nothing.

It isn't competing with the game...

I hope they pull it off.

Poker is really penetrating the mainstream, and as far as I know this will be the first major national broadcasting network to televize poker, ever.

I just hope some online poker sites advertise during the event, and I'll be sure to sign up on the ones that do! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
