What would be the best video card for running dual monitors. I have a cheap emachines computer. 1850 ghz with 512 meg ram. Not sure of the processor. I just want to use it for poker sites on one monitor and surfing on the other. Price is not a major concern although I am still working very hard at my day job!

Also do some video cards support hooking your computer up to the tv and playing dvd's? Thank you for your help!

Any PCI video card will be fine for dual monitors. You will need a card with TV-Out to hook it up to your TV.

Any PCI card will be ok for dual monitors? At Best Buy the salesman took me over to the technician and he said I had to have a video card with two monitor ports. They sold me a PNY Gforce fx 5200 with 128 meg ddr. It cost $119 but I have not opened it yet. Thanks for your help.

Yes. You just hook one monitor up the the AGP video card you already have (assumption) and use any PCI slot for the second video card for the second monitor. It is very easy with Windows.

That's a nice one, but more than you need for surfing the web. I just got a $30 or $40 PCI (it was over a year ago).

PCI cards are crap. You're better off buying a nice video card like an All-in-Wonder 9600/9800. It supports 2 moniters and you can run it to your TV and use it like a TIVO. It's money better spent.

I know a lot about computers I can help you out. First off, return that 5200 right now. It's a piece of crap. Buy this (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=14-156-007). ATI Radeon 7500, it's only $50 and its a good enough card for what you need to do. Now are you hooking up an LCD (thin monitor) and a CRT monitor (big cased monitor) or two CRTs? If it's one CRT/one LCD then you'll be fine with just that card. If you need two CRTs then buy this too, $8. (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=14-999-201) You'll need to use that convert your DVI port on the 7500 to a VGA port so your CRT can use it. It's really simple actually. All that will only cost you $59 and will work great for what you want. And should come in 2-3 days with newegg's good shipping.
