View Full Version : Question for Cyndie

Do you play poker?

I was thinking and I've only seen posts about Taxes or business. No posts on strategy or bonus or cashout problems. I also haven't seen the Eugeneel/Onlinechamp complex better known as the, "I play 5K-10K and dominate the known Universe, Do you know who my father is?, and Hands off my Grey Poupon peasant", complex that other's are known and loved for.

Cyndie my suggestion, improving your image makes good business sense and is a write off too, is to give 1 post a day that teaches poker skills. What say you?

Can we name the complex "The Ash Complex"?

"Are all men from the future loud-mouthed braggarts?"
"Nope. Just me baby... Just me."

or

"Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king. [he grabs girl] Hail to the king, baby. "

Edit: Cyndie mentions playing 7 stud a few times and has talked a bit about where to play due to ante/structure etc if I remember right.

Then why not teach others 1 lesson a day?

It appears that there are people fed up with your image of self promotion. Some goodwill may hold off the lynch mob. Come on make a Poker hand instruction post.

Unless you like the whippings in which case I would advise that you post on ss about Texas culture.

Which begs the question, "How does one respond to what one doesn't read"?

I believe your answer is contained in your own post, highlighted below:

Cyndie:
yes, I have played about 3,000,000 hands online

Lori:
That's one every minute for six years.

Lori

So 3 million seconds = six years? Interesting math there.

60 seconds in a minute * 60= 3600 seconds in an hour * 24 hours = 86,400 seconds in a day. 3,000,000/86,4000= 34.72 days. So you were only off by 71 months, but at least you got to attack Cyndie

uhhh, Lori said 1 per minute, not one per second. 1440 minutes=1 day, 525,600 minutes=1 year, 3,153,600 minutes=6 years. Lori's math seems right to me.

Ah sorry Jim.

On this occasion I noticed the RE: In Jek's post.

I confess however that during times of high sunspot activity I sometimes double check the titles of Cyndie's posts too.

I have played poker almost every day since june 2000 I play multiple tables for 14 hours many days...I went one stretch playing 16 hours a day seven days a week for 60 days. I got an email from Paradise Poker within the first four months at a time I was still teaching full time saying I had played 150,000 hands at that site alone.

The number ceased to be important at some time, since as with teaching, some teachers teach the same lesson twenty times for twenty years, and nothing new happens. Some teacher teach a different lesson and improve every year for five years and have five times as much experience.

I am not a good holdem player, but I know quite a bit about stud. I never talked much about it because there didn't seem to be much interest.

I recalculated, and allowing for the fact that I haven't always played 100,000 hands a month, the number is probably closer to 2,000,000. I extrapolated based on a short period...sorry.Won't happen again.

P.S. Stars just changed their tourney calling software...does it autmatically call you, or just when you log on late?

That's funny, because here RGP Post 11/02/02 (http://groups.google.com/groups?q=PokerScene+group:rec.gambling.poker&hl=en &lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=rec.gambling.poker&safe=off&selm=AO1x9.333 070%24o.3660570%40news1.west.cox.net&rnum=2) you state that you've played 500,000 hands. Does this mean you've played 2.5 million in the 14 months since then? Or maybe you're just telling a little fibby poo?

For the math-challenged such as myself that's about 5,900 hands per day, every day.

Cyndie
01-03-2004, 02:05 AM
as has been discussed here...in november a year ago, 500,000 was probably quite a bit low, and after I recalculated 3,000,000 probably won't happen until next year...maybe late this year.

I play 12 hours at least six days a week three tables at a time..or over 12,000 per week or 50,000 per month...since june of 2000. That is a little high at times and way low at others...so not a bad mix. That would be 1,750,000 if there were only 10 months in a year.

At one point, I calculated based on my 5 month high stretch and it stuck in my mind. No intent to harm.

cyndie,

so which site do you supposedly play at?

jek187
01-03-2004, 02:22 AM
For those who have problems reading between the lines, what Cyndie means here is:

"I have no clue how many hands I've played at any given time, so when the subject comes up, I'll just make up some numbers that sound impressive."

I play a lot of stud hi. At one point, I played a lot of stud hilo. I play mainly 3/6 and 10/20. I made the mistake of playing 20/40 when running badly. However, the game has a wonderful structure for a tight aggressive player.

I have played many many thousands of hands of low limit holdem and some up to 1020 holdem, but only when the games are certified fishy and I am feeling like one of my flushes might still make this decade. Sigh!

I have played quite a bit of head up and short handed holdem, since I prop a lot. Lots of head up and short stud as well.

So Cyndie basically admitted she is a liar. Making up numbers to try to sound good. Cyndie's only concern is to rack up her post count.

I think I am in a foul mood this morning because of so many bad beats but why do you all continue to harass Cyndie? Who the hell cares how many hands she has played? Aren't there more important things in our lives than old grudges. Let's move on.

I am sure if Cyndie gave advice about strategy her strategy would be picked apart.

I am not trying to take some new role as a "Cyndie apologist" but this thread is a bit ridiculous.

And for those of you who say if you don't like it don't read it, (i) this is my opinion just like you all have your opinion above and (ii) I spend at least fifteen minutes a day responding to other players' strategy questions and I am legitimately trying to makes this forum a better place because it has done me a world of good.

If I was the last one to move into an apartment block I would hope that my neighbours would tell me if a vampire bat lived in the roofspace.

(Sorry. I couldn't think how to work angler-fish into an analogy. Lori?)

If the vampire bat died and an angel moved into the attic. Would you continue to say the vampire bat was up there? I certainly don't think Mary qualifies as an angel but the quality of her posts are much better since she registered as Cyndie.

Sorry Mike - I could not resist the comparison. It does seem like Cyndie is given a hard time. Would any of the 'hard time givers' be able to provide 'Mary's sins' in a pm?

Hey Catfish,

I think the proper analogy is that we had a vampire on the roof. Now we have one that's adapted to be able to walk in the sunlight.

I am going to commence work on a PM now. Be patient, it's gonna be a doosy.

I'm sure he can count on it to be an objective statement of the facts rather than your extremely biased subjective interpretation.

Somehow I'm reminded of . . .

JEK adds "Cyndie" to his "buddy" list on a messenger system, "Cyndie" receives notice of this and believes it to be JEK trying to contact her. When "Cyndie" then says JEK tried to contact her first, JEK calls "Cyndie" a liar.

How exactly do you play 3 tables of stud hi to any degree of success?

Cyndie
01-03-2004, 10:25 PM
I have the resolution set to 1400 and have the three screens in corners. As pointed out in the previous post, I wasn't doing as well with three tables as with two, but I routinely play 3 3/6 tables or 2 3/6 and a 10/20

I have played bridge for 30 years, and after each session, it was common to go out and talk about the hands and players can always place all the cards in all the hands, if not from memory, by reconstructing the play.

I just trust my instincts, but of course I watch 3rd street very carefully, and make some inferences about hole cards based on the 10 visible cards...that helps for later rounds when you need to remember if a paired door card rates to bust a draw or make trips...remembering the betting isn't too tough when you just look at the pot size and remember who raised (or who didn't).

Those ideas coupled with not playing too many hands, and already knowing most of the players quite well makes three tables relatively easy.

When I played stud hi and hilo at the same time...i would just put the HI tables on the top of the screen and the hilo at the bottom...then let reflex remember if the game was split pot or not.
