A couple of you have sent me private messages requesting information about NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). Instead of naming some books, I've search the internet for sites that offer info about NLP and how it can be useful.

There is an NLP "crashcourse" at:

NLP Crash Course (http://www.covertcommunications.com/nlp/crashcourse.html)

Commodities trading a speculation has some strong similarities with poker as far as winning psychology is concerned:

Market Wizards (http://www.iitm.com/consulting/vkt_interview.htm)

For sports psychology applications of NLP and some specific techniques which, with some creativity, you can use for poker:

Golf and NLP (http://www.peakperformancepsych.com/peakperformancepsych/articles.html)

The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) has been using NLP for decades in determining the level of truthfulness of both suspects and witnesses (John Grinder, one of the co-founders of NLP was a CIA agent):

NLP and the FBI (http://www.fbi.gov/publications/leb/2001/august2001/aug01p1.htm)

The most common application of NLP, besides therapy, is sales, speed seduction, and persuasion:

NLP and Sales (http://www.kevinhogan.com)

The reason why NLP is applicable anywhere is because of its precise modeling formats:

Behavioral modelling (www.experiential-dynamics.org/index2.htm)

Once you will have at least quickly browsed through the above links, you should have a good grasp of what NLP is all about and whether or not it's right for you. Those sites will also lead you to some books, tapes, and trainings in case you decide to go further.

Jedi,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a comprehensive list. I know nothing about NLP, and you've helped me to learn something about it.

Regards,

Al
