Hey everybody. Once again I would like to thank TGC for running the internet challenge for us again. I hope to get into it a lot more than last time and try to work my way up.

I have a question regarding the WSOP promotion. Is anyone else here planning on (or has already) entered? And will there really be ten guaranteed seats?

Given there are only about 300 people so far, thats only $15,000 in the prize pool which would obviously not cover ten seats (not including $500 in spending money and airfare/accomodations as mentioned in the promotion).

I would love to enter and have a somewhat realistic shot at being in the WSOP for only $50 but I want to make sure that everyone is not playing for only one or two seats but indeed the guaranteed ten.

Thanks!

I won one of the satellites a while back, so I'll be playing on the 14th.

Many of the tourneys on TGC have amazingly high overlays, but I haven't seen any problems with them paying. The Aussie Millions tourney was similar to this one; had like 50 entries and 10 winners.

alekhine8,

Just my 2 cents. My guess is that most of the players who have already registered won their way in through the $5+.50 satelites. There is really not any incentive to buy-in to a tourney weeks in advance. As the tourney approaches, if there is still a large overlay, a lot of players will simply buy-in and the overlay will be small to none.

I'm also not sure how great an overlay this one will be, since 1 out of every 200 players will win 1 of the 10 seats. So if they only have 300 people signed up, only one seat will be awarded.

They are advertising a guaranteed 10 seats.

Each seat is worth ~$12,000. That's a guaranteed $120,000 prize pool. They would need 2400 entrants at $50 each to pay for that. Worth keeping an eye on as it approaches.

That what I want to know. Are they going to give out ten seats even if its a massive loss for them?

Basically, I wouldn't bother with this one, it's a worthless promo. Ten guaranteed WSOP seats, hotel accomadations along with spending money and paid airfare. Please pass it up, NOTTOM and I are begging you.

LOL! very amusing, but if i don't win my way in, I will be buying my way into this one.

I expect them to award all 10 WSOP seats regardless of the number of entrants as they did for the Aussie Millions promo. They seem to be trying to build a player base without regard to making a profit initially. Every night they run tournaments with substantial overlays (and I've cashed and was paid with no problems). Hopefully they are well funded enough to continue.

For the Aussie Millions promo there were 72 entrants and 10 $10,000 seats awarded ($7200 entry fee plus travel expenses and $500). All the winners are listed on www.pokernetwork.com (http://www.pokernetwork.com) (independant from Primapoker) and I believe theses seats were all prepaid to the Crown Casino in Australia prior to them even running the promo. The value of the promo was $1389 per entrant which after the $500 entry fee works out to an overlay of $889 per player. Not a bad deal, especially considering that many players won their way in for $50!

A big difference this time with the WSOP promo is that the final event is only $50, rather than $500 for the Aussie Millions promo. This may encourage more players to take advantage of the overlay. However with the prizes worth $120,000 they need 2400 players just to break even and that seems way too ambitious even with the cheap entry fee. I've won my $5 round so I intend to play and be one of the winners (alas intended that too for the Aussie Millions but busted out 12th, good thing I had already won my way in last Jan /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I can confirm. I won one of the Aussie seats last month. I've got my ticket and hotel booked. There was a huge overlay, and they are still sending all 10 seats (only money enough for about 3).

I'd trust it for the WSOP.

This is of course what we hope to see, but it didn’t happen with the 10 seats we / Prima guaranteed for the Aussie Millions – the overlay there was still massive.

i am open to bribes to stay out of this promo. i suck anyways, but it can't hurt to have one less 2+2er in it. is it limit or no limit? if its no limit, the bribe won't have to be quite as large.

It's no-limit and as a bribe, you can have a 1 percent piece of me in the WSOP when I win my seat to it through this promo, that's worth way more than the $50 entry fee if I got in the money btw.

NOTE: I'm not arrogant enough to believe that I'd actually win the seat or if tht miraculous event occured that I'd actually cash in the big one, but hey we can dream can't we?
