I'm going to Vegas in a couple of weeks with my wife and another couple, and was looking for some suggestions on where we should go to eat. We will most likely be going to Delmonicos one night for steaks - was hoping to get suggestions for Italian, Asian, Mexican, seafood or any other that you all think is a must try. Thanks for any suggestions.

Just in case you like to dabble in buffets here is some info:

If you get to the strip after midnight on any day of the week except closed Friday, try the buffet at the Riviera, they will cook and BRING to your table unlimited # of NY strip steaks to order or omelets, or burgers, and they have breakfast food [for us meat eaters, a huge vat of bacon which was always hot and full!, nice salad and dessert bars, and other assorted foods, I had nice white fish steaks one night and very good salisbury steaks another, I love salisbury steaks. They always had chicken fried steak next to the breakfast food as well. Did I say unlimited NY strip steaks freshly cooked? *author drooling now*.

The cook did not flinch when I asked for 4 NY steaks well done.

OH! Did I mention that this buffet is NOT busy? It is very good and I trace this to the fact that it seems to be mainly for the staff, there is a section for them and it has always been crowded and the service there is always excellent.

The best regular time buffet we have been to, is at The Fiesta Hotel/Casino on Lake Mead. It has several sections including a mongolian grill, Italian, american, mexican, etc. One stop shopping for the mouth... 8)

A buddy of mine and his girlfriend say that the RIO's Seafood Buffet is awesome, but we refuse to pay $34.95 for it, he's an out of towner.

Not recommended buffets:
Palace Station (probably similar at all of the Station Casino's since they go by the name of 'The Feast'.) Mediocre selection was main issue and bland desserts.

Tropicana [I rate this one, the overall worst! Poor selection, mediocre service and worst yet, watered down juice! (1 time I can forgive, but on 3 separate visits?) If it wasn't for the fact my mom managed to get us comp'd there a few times, I'd have never eaten there again after first time.]

Other recommended buffets:

Sam's Town [on Boulder Hwy] I went there on Steak night, yes u see a trend! /images/graemlins/wink.gif
Stardust Good grub, much better quality then I ever expected!
Sam Boyd's Freemont Street Hotel/Casino [downtown Las Vegas] Great breakfasts!
[all 3 of these were 12.95 or less for dinner]
Been a long time, but I enjoyed Fitzgerald's and Binion's Horseshoe buffets when went to them. [both Downtown Las Vegas, Sam's Freemont buffet spoiled us down there, we ate there a lot when we had a 12 night stay at a nearby hotel.

Just OK:
Suncoast
Sahara
Four Queens

Buddy who loves the RIO one, also said Paris buffet is excellent, again a pricier one.

I got a free steak dinner at Boulder Station's steak house, and it was very good, $100 tab for 3 of us, was comp'd. Called 'The Broiler' I think.

Just remember, for the best reasonably priced buffets: Fiesta and Riviera.

For breakfast though, most of the buffets are pretty cheap and decent.

Dang, here it is 545am and I am hungry for STEAK!
