Party Poker 0.50/1 (10 handed)
Me454555 has 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif and is BB

EP2 limps, MP2 raises, Button folds, SB calls, Me454555 calls, EP2 calls

Am I defending my BB with too weak a hand?

Flop(8 SB): A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif

SB checks, Me454555 checks, EP2 checks, MP2 bets, SB calls, Me454555 raises, EP2 folds, MP2 3-bets, SB calls, Me454555 calls

I thought the check-raise would be a pretty obvous sign that I had at least an ace. Since mp2 raised pf, then 3 bet, I put him on AK or AA.

Turn(12 BB): 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif

SB checks, Me454555 checks, MP2 bets, SB calls, Me454555 folds

Mp2 bet and SB called. Not a good sign for me. Turn didn't help, so I folded

River(14 BB): 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif

SB checks, MP2 bets, SB calls

What would you have done differently. Results to come

Unless raiser has very loose raising standards, yes.

I'd bet the flop, hand is too weak to check raise.

I'd call getting 12-1 on the turn.

Depending on table texture if it was very loose then I might have called the raise. You have horrible position for the rest of the hand. With that being said, You should have bet the flop trying to do a check raise at a micro table is almost useless, Most of the players probably don't even understand check raising so its pretty much a waste IMO! MP2 might have just called now depending on how he plays. He now has to think you could have an Ace. On the turn I would bet, and I would also bet the river. Muck it PF. You're out of position with a trash hand. A9o will lose you bets out of position in a raised pot. Muck it!
