View Full Version : Do these stats mean much?

The last couple of weeks have been really up and down. I seemed to lose every hand for a stretch, and then a few big pots pulled me back up to where I started. Variance is part of the game, but I was curious and pulled my stats for my last 2000 hands. I am not a huge believer in stats but I am curious if there are any opinions on whether my flop %, % of flops seen in various positions and win rate mean anything. All these hands were played at 0.05/0.10 in Pokerstars.

In the last 2000 hands:

% of flops seen: 509/2000 25%
% of flops from the small blind: 81/272 29%
% of flops from the big blind: 206/269 76%

Pots won with showdown: 71/138 51%
POts won without showdown: 59

% of overall pots won: 130/2000 6.5%

I'd like to hear opinions. Personally it seems that 25% may be too high an overall percentage. However these stats are also extremely vague since I don't have figures like how often I pre-flop raise or call pre-flop raises (almost never flat call pf raises) etc etc. If these mean nothing, I'd like to hear that too. Also, does anyone have recommendations on records I should be keeping? I keep track of hours played and money won and lost but should I be more detailed? Thanks.
