Given that Big Al will not be here, I've decided that a REAL handicapper should continue the tradition (this being a traditional holiday and all), so.....

Ever since the Lions' owner got his hands on the incriminating photos of the commissioner, therebye guaranteeing this sweet always-host-the-short-week-game deal, the Lions have ruled Turkey Day.
No matter how bad they are, no matter how powerful the team that they face, Detroit often has a chance to win the game outright.... regardless of how ridiculous it seems on paper.
And when you include the point-spread... I'll have to check, but I think the Lions have a better percentage record over 20 years than the Rutgers Scarlet Knights did THIS year. Don't ask me how, don't ask me why (i'm still trying to prove the referee connection), but Detroit almost ALWAYS covers the spread on Thanksgiving. I think they've even added it to the NFL Rule Book...
Brett Favre and Ahmad Green trying to drive to the division title and the playoffs? Not a factor.
Joey Harrington playing like your grandfather on his "bad days"? Not to worry!
So, take the points (knowing that you're robbing the fools blind AND getting unnecessary points on top of it) and the Lions, sit back and digest the turkey, and dream about the new car you're going to buy! Trust me, this is a safer bet than fading scalf's picks!
