Hi everyone,

Even though its nice to win with premium hands, I find winning more enjoyable when I win with less than stellar holdings.

The hand in question took place at a typical Party Poker .50-1.00.

I post the big blind and get 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 10 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif. Four players limpers to me, the sb folds I check.

Flop 9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2 /images/graemlins/club.gif T /images/graemlins/spade.gif

I check its gets checked three more time to a player who bets one caller to me, I raise both call.

Turn 9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2 /images/graemlins/club.gif T /images/graemlins/spade.gif 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

I bet both call.

9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2 /images/graemlins/club.gif T /images/graemlins/spade.gif 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 8 /images/graemlins/club.gif

I bet one player folds one player calls.

I had the winning hand.

Pretty routine, however I liked how I played this for some reason.

Not worried about your kicker?

How come?
I usually throw hands like this away. Not good?

If you are throwing away top pair crap kicker without any reason then you are often throwing away the winner.

Then maybe I was right in me being too tight post-flop. But 6 as a kicker? I suppose there`s a difference between having top pair/crap kicker when top pair is T or lower, compared to having a K with a 6 kicker?

I would have played it the same way.

Nice hand,

I really don't think I could have made myself bet the river.

I really don't think I could have made myself bet the river.

Why not?

My opponent has 68 offsuit. He chased the gut shot and hit his pair and called.

How can I not value bet this river? /images/graemlins/blush.gif

I think he has an easy value bet. An Ace-high hand could be calling on the other end with the paired board.

Peace,

I didn't say it was wrong, I just don't think I could pull the trigger myself.

Nice Hand...

Curious though on one thing.

With your check-raise on the flop, are you hoping for the player in the middle to fold? I think I would be.

Just curious.

I check raised to thin the field, and because I felt confident I had the best hand at the time. I did not want anyone to draw cheaply.
