so I'm watching one of the tournament tables at my local card room while waiting for a seat in a cash game, and I witnessed a hand I thought was horrible. unfortunately I don't remember the size of the blinds, probably around 25/50.
EP (2k) raises one limper to $150, button(6k) and limper call. flop comes QJK, check, bet 300, button raises to 2k, limper folds and EP calls all in.
EP has AT and the button has QJ, and the turn and river are blanks.
What exactly was the button thinking when he raised the flop? he has a hand, so he's probably not trying to steal. a huge raise is only going to get called if he's a dog to win. anyone think this was a good play?
