That was the worst burn ever. If you need a shoulder to cry on PM me.

You should shoot back with the old "I know you are but what am I"

Sounds fun, bring your winter clothes though...its gonna be cold, cold, cold, cold...(anyone who got that refernce please respond.)

>>>anyone gonna be there?<<<
No, I live in San Diego right now
>>>anyone been there?<<<
Oh, well why didn't you ask? Yes I learned to play at Turning Stone and it is near and dear to my heart. It is a small room, probably 10 tables.

>>>what is the highest limit they offer<<<
Unless you are going during a tournament time, the most consistent game that they play is a 15-30 hold'em which runs every day during the week and probably through the nights on the weekends. Make sure you get to the room by 11 or so during the week, because once the regulars get a seat they usually aren't going anywhere for a while. The games are good, but they are not like foxwoods in the sense that they have much more of a home game feel to them, and EVERYONE knows eachother, there is definitely occasional soft-playing. Obviously no cheating though, it is comfortable and they are nice to outsiders (though if you play tight they will tell you about it, trust me!)
>>>any NL?<<<
Not sure about what is going on right now up there but a year and a half ago, they had a GREAT GREAT 5-10 blinds no-limit game that died out, dried up...with the new poker explosion I have a feeling they might be playing some no-limit games on occasion up there, the only problem is that it hurts the highest limit game usually.

thanks<<<
Your welcome, say hi to Shane the dealer for me and Gary the jewish guy in the 5 seat who always wears a shirt and tie. Tell them Jesse the Syracuse student sent you.

No problem Daryn, any other questions feel free to add to the thread. By the way, there isn't much to do right around the casino. If you were interested, they don't sell alchohol on site so you have to go backroads to this little town a minute or two away. Pretty much you will be do a lot of gambooling...Also, if you know anything about spy-software, go help me out on my thread on the internet forum

It might not be what Hiatus was looking for but I do believe Bill Murray, aka funniest man of last 30 years, does have a line to that effect in Groundhog Day.

Hi,

They have about 20 to 25 tables going on the weekends now, usually playing from 1-3 to 15-30 hold em. Also i know they have stud 1-5 all the time and once in a while a high/low split game, 2-10 spread limit. No kill games and expect to wait a little while for a game during peak times.

The tournys i know about are:

The monday at 1 pm limit hold em for $25 with $5 rebuys for 4 levels. Crapshoot, better catch some cards.

The sat at 11 am no limit hold em for $25 with $5 rebuys for 4 levels. Insane w/ 4 to 6 people all-in every hand for the first levels. Almost not worth it.

The tuesday 6 pm no limit for $35 w/ $10 rebuys for 4 levels and 5 $50 bounties. This one is my personal favourite as it only has about 50 people playing (the others usually have about 130 or so) and it plays a little better; a little skill is involved. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hope this helps

Hiatus is very correct, there is not much else to do up there. I went there last year and stayed at Turning Stone. But I went up there because I was going to the Syracuse/Miami football game and convinced my wife that this would be a good place to stay. /images/graemlins/grin.gif If you are going up there, and are a college sports fan, you might find tickets to a Syracuse football or basketball game. I'm sure CrackerZack and myself would highly recommend doing so. The university is only about 20-25 minutes from the casino. But there is a famous saying up there: if you get in your car and drive in a straight line out of the city for 5 minutes, you'll be in the middle of nowhere.

Enjoy the trip.

Joe

Hi Daryn,

Turning stone has decent games going on the weekends - 1-4 HE, 3/6 HE, 5/10 HE, sometimes 10/20 HE , and almost always 15/30 HE.

I have played the 5/10, 10/20, and 15/30. It is generally a nice soft spot.

The 15/30 can get kind a lil towards the tight side depending on the line up, but you can put em on their heels with some added aggression and chip spraying when their hoarding their chips - lots of old guys who always play the same.

It is actually warm up here this weekend - but it has snowed already so bring a jacket.

Hope you have fun.
