Hi Patzer,

Unless UTG is a maniac and you want to isolate him I would just muck this preflop.

When he checkraises the turn I would just call this down.

fold preflop. who cares about the turn?

if i ended up there, i would have 3bet too.

I have no problem with the three bet on the turn but once capped I think you have just call on the river.

My guess is he either has suited A-9 or a set of nines.

Gotta know your player. If you don't know your player you cannot call the PF raise with AJ. 3-betting is obscene against all but the boarderline maniacs or against the VERY controllable players.

I notice you don't put him on "99" or "A9" or "AJ" or "A6" or even "QdTd". But those are the very hands he MUST be willing to play in order for you to justify thinking about jumping the raise with AJ.

Trouble hands are trouble enough; they are "Disaster Hands" against early raisers.

Considering the action I don't think there is anyway he's ahead here on the turn and I think its a mistake to 3-bet.
