What do you typically say when asked by an opponent that folded to you "What did you have" or "Could you have beaten XY?" I play almost exclusively internet SnG's, so I'm especially interested in this situation, but all comments are welcome. My replies are the usual boring "I don't remember" or just "yes" or "no" at random.

I generally make no response.

If I wanted him to know, I could have shown my cards.

Online, I generally just ignore them. In person, I just smile at them. Drives 'em crazy!

I had a guy who continually cried to me to show my cards after he folded to my bets. We were playing a sit and go, and were down to HtH. He had been proudly showing a good 70% of his hands that weren't called all game long, so I had a very good read on him. I ran him over head to head, and boy, was he mad!

say either "cards" or "suited pair" like "suited Aces"

If you really want to mess with them, say "pocket rats"

If they ask what it is say "i don't know."

My standard reply is "pocket deuces". Really pisses people off. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I tend to tell them exactly what they want to hear. This is especially effective if you had bluffed them out. what did you have? AK? yup.

Now on occasion, when I have bet a very strong hand and not gotten called on the river, I'll tell them "black pocket 22."

Clearly the best answer. Pure brilliance.

I was in a very nice hand once,

flop was 5,6,9 rainbow

opponent puts in a good size bet, I reraise him allin.

he thinks very long and hard and finally folds and turns over 55. He asks me what I had. To which I replied:

"It added up to 15"

he didn't like that.

If I win, "the winner",
if I lose "not enough",
if they ask "did you have the x?", "yep", or "nope"

I dont' say this but my thought is: I auto-muck my cards for a reason - if I wanted you to know what I played I would show them to you. (I always make sure to note when someone asks me - I know he's probably keeping notes!)

One that always seems to irratate people, if not confuse them, is a sheepish smile along with: "What did you want me to have?" Then, next time it is up to them to make a decision, give them the same smile; they will be confused as hell.

I occasionally use the line:
"Two cards and X dollars."
Anytime they don't call thats all it took.

It depends:

A small percentage of the time I'll tell the truth.
A larger percentage of the time I'll tell what I hoped I had.
The largest percentage of the time I'll choose randomly between saying "AA" and "72o".
I have no idea what the actual percentages are.
