typical party 2/4

i'm in the big blind with A /images/graemlins/heart.gif T /images/graemlins/spade.gif
3 limpers and i see the flop

T /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 8 /images/graemlins/club.gif

MP bets, i check raise, utg calls two, and original bettor folds. heads up to the turn...

6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
i bet, he calls

8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
i bet, he raises and i scratch my head.

i guess he could have TT, the 4th 8, possibly 66 but why would he call two cold on the flop. or an over pair, but why didn't he raise preflop with jacks or better. and maybe a flush and he's retarded.

so i think he probobly has one ten for the split pot and I call.

as it turns out he had QQ.

Oddly played, indeed. When he cold calls the flop, you should certainly be wary. It looks like a set up. But then you get to the river with a full house, and suddenly the possibility of an 8 is not so scary, and he is just sitting there. I would have called the raise too. I think the river gave you just enough hope to set you up for a fall.

Tough luck, I guess. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think you both played this hand well.

He bet his overpair, and read you for an 8 with the c/r.

When the 8 hit the river he moved his read off 8 and put you on a 10.

You were correct to call.
